A Dissapointing Debut For Our Drivers

It was yet another disappointing outing for Jamaludin-Rozita this time in their debut for the M5 Perodua Rally Team driving the 1.3 Perodua Myvi in Round 5 of the Malaysian Rally Championship at Johor Bahru, another home event for our drivers, which was held in conjunction with Round 6 of the Asian-Pacific Rally Championship.

It all started with a difficult Saturday leg where in heavy rain the Peroduoa Myvi struggled to adapt to the flooded SS5 stage and ended up against a tree with a faulty engine due to incapsulated water.

However the Perodua M5 Team mechanics did a great job in fixing the stricken car and get it ready for the final day's rallying, only for Jamaludin to ditch the car on SS11 after losing control of the Myvi, hitting a bump and then airborne into the ditch towatds the end of the stage. Both Jamaludin and Rozita escaped unhurt.

Dissapointment in Desaru

Johor: There was disappointment all-round for the Purnama rally team in round 4 of the Malaysian Rally Championship at Desaru, Johor held from 2-3 August. Jamaluddin and co-driver Rozita finished the rally a lowly 13th out of the 18 cars competing after their engine stalled in the 3rd stage.

It took a while until the 1.3-litre Proton Satria engine got back up and running and they eventually finished that stage last, 17 minutes behind the leading duo of Karamjit-Sheriff. After that slight mishap they struggled to find their rhythm and finished day one 14th place overall.

On day 2 with renewed courage the brother-sister pairing did well with the stricken Proton Satria 1.3 to finish 9 minutes behind the leader and 10th overall of the day. They eventually finished the rally in 13th, 35 minutes behind the winners Karamjit-Sheriff.
